EPIC2ACS01 + EPIC2ACS02 bundle for multi-port PD 3.1 applications
Eggtronic SmartEgg® bundle controllers (EPIC2ACS01 + EPIC2ACS02) are the EPIC2ACSxx controllers based on the proprietary SmartEgg® architecture, which makes possible a single-stage AC/DC converter able to act simultaneously as a power factor correction and isolated regulator, based on the EPIC2ACS01 on primary side, pairing with the EPIC2ACS02 Synchronous Rectification (SR), Buck control and PD 3.1 controller on the secondary side. To realize each extra symmetrical port, a cost effective and application specific version of the EPIC 2 (EPIC2ACBxx) is used to provide the PD protocol and the control of the Buck.
The EPIC 2.0 is a cost-optimized family of controllers, suitable for power conversion applications, offering high power levels, high efficiency over the entire span of loads and inputs, and reduced Bill of Materials.
The SmartEgg® EPIC2ACSxx bundle is best suited for high-efficiency multiple ports power adapters that require a Power Delivery (PD) 3.1 protocol. Such as laptops, smartphones, tablets and any portable devices with USB-C interface. It enables a total peak efficiency of >95%, high power density and reduced BOM.
Thanks to EPIC 2.0 RISC-V digital core with Eggtronic’s SmartEgg® proprietary control algorithms, and a rich set of digital and analog peripherals, it provides a highly flexible and scalable hardware platform, enabling extreme performance and cost effective solutions.
